The moduli system project by Kristian Gullichsen and Juhani Pallasmaa arises in Finland in the late sixties to solve the rental housing. Moduli prefabrication system raises a number of possible combinations relying on a structural grid and the possible combinations of panels of standard dimensions.
Between 1969 and 1973, sixty residential units were built using the Moduli system. The first was a summer home for Kristian Gullichsen outside Helsinki. Although the system allowed construction of a house in two days, it never became profitable and the project was abandoned.
