This question was lifted(raised) in particular by Ugyen Tshechup, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bhutan and the Industry ( BCCI), during a conference held the Royal Middle school College of Thimphu, on the macroeconomics of Bhutan.
He asserts that “ghost towns” were created because of the development of the hydroelectric projects. A ghost town is, according to the architects, a city which emerged in parallel from certain projects and which is not any more used after their completions.
