Looking back :: Pierre Parat, Pyramids (1970”)

French architects Pierre Parat and Andrault (ANPAR agency, Paris, Fr)

created in Villepinte (Paris, FR) their prototype of intermediate housing environment, made of 160 housing, distributed on five pyramids in degrees and so introduced this architecture of modules arranged in terraces called “pyramids”.
The ” superimposed individual house ” is the answer to the numerous studies led by the agency ANPAR, worried of bringing a quality to the collective accommodation(housing). The project is a success so esthetic, by the ingenious interweaving of the volumes, that functional, thanks to the work in particular of the accessibility (internal and outside) to housing.

Their concept offers in every accommodation an individual “terraced garden”, a beautiful terrace of 31 m ², without counterpart and with an almost individual access.

They created such pyramids in different cities : ÉpernayVillepinteÉvryChamps-sur-MarnePlaisirFontenay-sous-Bois.
